On The Team

I really want to get on a team sport, but I’m home schooled (high school, and I want to broaden by extracurricular activities). What team sports do they offer? How do the programs work?
Oh, and are there any other organizations/etc that can get me on a team sport like football?

I am helping my friend that’s in a band run a street team, but neither of us really know how it works. She’s had a street team before but it was ran by someone else. So we have no idea what to do. Any ideas?

A street team by definition is a group or an organization which is called upon to promote and advertise an event. The method which street teams are being used in the music industry is a whole new component to the promotion game. Street teams are also responsible for information gathering and reporting the information. Street knowledge is about knowing the market and knowing the
consumer. Street marketing involves bringing family and friends to the shows, persuading family and friends to buy merchandise, phoning local radio stations to demand the artists songs be played, designing and putting up posters to promote shows. Passing out flyers, posting to message boards online, maintaining websites, writing articles and reviews about releases and live shows, and emailing fans.

I have an Adult League Men’s soccer team in the Casa League. We are currently looking for bars to sponsor us. Are there any bars in the Philadelphia area that are more apt to sponsor rec league sports teams than others? If so, whom?

You could try one of the Station Pizza’s they always sponsor fox chase teams. Bars you could try Paddy Whacks they sponsor teams sometimes.

Not to pick on any teams but not having winning seasons for ten years straight is a problem and fans loose respect. I can think of three NFL teams and all of them are win less so far in 2010. However could you forgive Michael Vick and have him on your team to start winning? Did the Eagles make a good choice?

I don’t care if they put him on their team or not. What he did to those dogs was evil. He tortured innocent animals and for that, he will be punished. He will burn in the fire pits of hell for the rest of eternity. I guess he might as well have fun while he can. But if I were him, I’d hide in a hole and never come out for fear of being killed. I know quite a few people that would love to castrate him and then beat him to death.

Hey people, I just wanna know what are some of the best defensive teams in the NCAA or NBA to make it to the finals, win or lose. Example, Butler last year, they were basically all defense, but lost in the finals of the NCAA tournament. So, yeah I just wanna know what were some other situations like this, where basically defense lead them to where they got to. Thanks!

It seems the history of most team sports dates from the mid 1800s. Why weren’t there any team sports prior to that time? I know people participated in games but all the modern ones seem to have this same time frame.

I believe it’s because around that time there was a greater influx of wealth and leisure time which led to people seeking to have extracurricular activities, such as sports. And because people had more wealth and were not as worried as getting by, they began paying to see people playing sports too.

This mostly happened because of the Industrial Revolution which led to better transportation, factories, materials, etc.
