How can you get your school to get a soccer team?

Posted on December 29th, 2011 by admin

I want to play soccer but my school doesn’t have it, is there any way I can petition for a team or something. I’m too old for youth club soccer, are there any club leagues for high schooler’s.

I think a petition is a good way to go – get some interested students together and form your own group first, then take it to the teachers to see if you can get some traction. Failing that, it never hurts just to get a non-school team together and enter into some local soccer leagues.

What are good soccer skills to practice to make the middle school soccer team?

Posted on December 21st, 2011 by admin

I want to try out for the soccer team at my middle school next year. I have around 10 months until tr-outs. What are some good skills or practice routines I should practice?!?!

"Just Me" had some very good advice which I am only adding to.

I read a statistic recently that said 30% of all national team players come out of Southern California. I believe the premier club is SD Surf Soccer. I also believe the best club for developing is the San Diego Football Academy. Sorry, but I could not find postings from the San Diego Football Academy. Who does SD Surf go to to teach their skills? Most likely, it is Mario Mrakovic. Last year, his fist generation of "grassroots" kids, both boys and girls (under 9) won Cal South’s prestigious State Cup within minutes of each other. I was there. It was truly a magical experience.

Here is a link to Mario’s son "Luka" demonstrating 10 attacking moves and 10 screening moves.

Practice them just how they are demonstrated until you can do them in your sleep.

Feel free to do more searches on all things "Mario."

Good luck.

What are the insurance requirements for a traveling soccer team?

Posted on December 14th, 2011 by admin

A group of players in my town have formed a soccer team and we are trying to figure out exactly what we need to do before we can legally register for tournaments this spring. What does the team need for insurance and how do we go about getting it? We are a team out of Vermont and hope to be competing in New York as well as New England states. Please post links if you know where to find useful information.

The first thing, is to contact the entity that holds the tournaments, and ask them what THEIR requirements are!! THEY are the ones to tell you what you need.

I’ve been in my past school’s volleyball team since 7th grade and I’ve been playing soccer since 3rd grade and I’ve been in all my school teams until now. I just moved school for my sophomore year, but I wasn’t able to join my new school’s soccer or volleyball team. Where can I find a girls volleyball or soccer team in LA? How do I become a team doctor or sports physician for a professional soccer team?

Posted on August 5th, 2011 by admin

I really want to become a sports physician, I was just wondering how do become a sports
physician for a professional soccer team? Like who do I contact to work for them?
I want to be a sport physician for a European soccer team, who do I contact and how?

You’ve posted from the US, so you would have to decide if you are going to complete med school here and then try and do a residency with a group that works with a Euro soccer team or if you will do residency here with a group that does work with a local sports team and then attempt to get a job in Europe.

Because of licensing differences, you will have to find out in advance what it takes to transfer your degree to another country. You need to figure this out before you even get to undergrad so you don’t waste your time taking classes here if you have to have EU classes to get a license to practice medicine in any specific country.

How can I pump up my soccer team with a gift before a game?

Posted on April 13th, 2011 by admin

I would like to MAKE a gift for each of the players, preferably one that’s inexpensive and quick/easy to make. Any ideas? This is a high school girls’ soccer team that likes a mixture of girly/sporty stuff. I’m drawing such a blank right now, any help is appreciated, thank you!

You could make small soccer beads (for arms and neck). Beads are kinda girly (lol) and they could wear it during the match symbolising a connection and unity within the team .
