I am doing a Personal Business Card and on the back I need to have 3 Adjectives that describe myself. So far I have: Resourceful and Bilingual. The 3rd would be Ethical Team Player, but it is too long. Any Suggestions?
I doubt there is such a word because the terms have such different meanings. I also think it’s a bad idea to claim to be ethical or honest. I understand that there are many companies/individuals who are not ethical in any given field, which makes it difficult for their competitors who are. Nonetheless, whenever I see someone’s professional self-description containing such words, I think: the assumption should be that you are ethical, and saying so makes me wonder why you think it’s necessary to make that claim. So, I would not use that, or any similar, word. "Team player" is a noun, and appears in the dictionary without a hyphen (probably through long usage).
How about "professional" which includes/suggests expert knowledge, reliability, dependability, rational behavior, conduct/manner/speech appropriate to a business situation/relationship, integrity, honesty.
[The only correct use of capitalization in your question is the first word of each sentence. If you list bilingual, which means a thorough knowledge of a language and certainly should be included if you are, you really do not want any errors in your use of English.]
After "Bilingual" put in parentheses the two languages: Bilingual (English and Spanish), or (English-Spanish), or just (Spanish) because the card is written in English so that language should be obvious to the reader.
Again, while I think "ethical" should be "a given" so not stated, that applies to every profession, including a beautician. For a lawyer or, especially, a judge to have it on his/her card would cause only negative reactions: incredulity, laughter. I’m laughing now at the suggestion. The thought is probably a good "lawyer joke." That’s such a ridiculous comment, I can’t stop laughing.
