Why does England have the worst football team in the world?
Posted on July 1st, 2010 by admin
Let’s face it, England is totally crap at football, just like with the Eurovision song contest. The England team did so badly in the world cup only scoring a pathetic 1 point against Germany’s 4 points that England is the laughing stock of the world.
So why does England have the worst team in the world compared to every other country?
they got boats of talent but just dont see the heart.

Ok i’m not English- so I think it’s interesting to note the great expensive the government paid for the team, training, etc. England have a few good players but have no ability to work as a team they’re players are tired and a manager I don’t rate. Cynically, they had easy groups.

Because the Premiership is made up of excellent foreign players who can carry our overpaid "Superstars". When they have to play without the support of the foreigners to make them look good, well, you saw the result for yourself.

Well. First off because as children they’re told by their parents to "hoof it up the field" "get stuck in!"
Where as other countries reward kids for passing and being skilled.. Also, when they join the 15’s and over only the big tough guys get picked.. look at all these other teams they’re all small
what really annoys me is that we class england as one of the "top teams".. they’re not!!! they down there with korea and newzeland.. there shit!
Anyway i heard englands future games are going to be moved to a different channel.. apparently the sight of 11 assholes being hammered for 90 minutes is too explicit for the bbc

I wouldn’t say they are the worst team in the world (not yet). But the players often do not play to their potential. Probably because they do not train enough together. I think England will get worse as a team in future. The Premiership focuses on buying foreign players, and fails to nurture home grown talent.
England have not been any good for a long time, but for some reason we (the people) have hung on to the times when they were great. We need to realise that we are no longer a good a team as we once were.

But to answer, we’re the worst football team in the world, because our footballing style is outdated, predictable, and tedious. It is executed by players who would rather be on holiday, and I think you’re forgetting that Germany are…. well….. pretty good actually.

Maybe the England team should sing next year’s Eurovision song, and Graham Norton and co. can play in England’s European Championship qualifiers? They can’t do much worse.

GIVE THEM A BREAK, THERE NOT THE WORST, THEY JUST HAD A BAD WORLD CUP THIS YEAR LIKE BRAZIL HAD LAST WORLD CUP.
most of the players like rooney, stevie g, frankie ect from the EPL were tired from the epl season that was too close to this year wc, they didn’t get much time to rest. the coach has to blame too, for the tactic their play 4-4-2 wtf? who still plays that? and poor player line up and subs

From both your ridiculous question and your curious use of the word "point" instead of "goal", I’m guessing you’re either not much of a football fan or you’re just looking for a bit of attention by provoking people. Anyway, technically of course we did score a second "point" against Germany which was farcically disallowed, undeniably changing the game. Having said that, there’s no question that Germany were the better side overall and deserved to win, but it’s hardly the total calamity that the media would have everyone believe. We’re certainly far from being the best team in the world at the moment, but we do still have a squad of players that many countries would kill for. We just need to find the right balance and stick with it over a prolonged period of time if we’re to fulfill our potential, rather than always chopping and changing. Likewise, if our players could enjoy the luxury of at least one tournament without being constantly hounded by the unerringly sensationalist British media it would do wonders for the squad mentality and help them actually enjoy their football again.
As for being the laughing stock of the world, thankfully (as disappointing as we were) Italy and especially France have kindly worked overtime to spare us that title. We may have been poor, but the French were atrocious, and further humiliated themselves with the incessant squabbling and protesting. No other figure in world football can match Raymond Domenech for sheer absurdity and general embarassment factor. Except perhaps Sepp Blatter. Then there’s the fact that many of the people childishly revelling in our World Cup failure (the Scots, Welsh and Irish in particular, predictably as ever) really should wait until their own country actually qualifies for the occasional tournament before attempting to mock us. Eurovision, meanwhile, we’re quite glad to be useless at – it’s nothing more than a cringe-worthy glorification of cheesy, manufactured, outdated Euro-pop, decided by shamelessly political voting. When it comes to proper music, we consistently produce some of the most popular artists in the world.
Anyway, we’ll be back, don’t you worry, ready to endure the tension and agony all over again that comes with being the perennial nearly men of international football. I just hope next time we can come a bit nearer than we did this time…

The English players don’t want to play for England any more because England don’t pay but the clubs do pay the money and they would do anything for there club more then the country.

What?
I don’t think England has the worst Football team in the World.
I think they made too many mistakes.
Rooney not performing and others.
I’m South African we are the host nation, we were knocked out in the group stage.
The 1st host nation to ever be out so early.
France made the final last time, out in the Group stage.
Italy, DEFENDEING CHAMPIONS OUT IN THE GROUP STAGE!
Trust me others have been far worse.

"You are mocked by those nations because you are deluded enough to think you can actually win tournaments, you clueless mug."
Erm, have you ever actually spoken to an Englishman about football? Or would that just pose too great a risk of bursting your bubble of prejudice? If you did, I think you’d find that the vast majority of us in this country are incredibly modest in our predictions for the national side. It always makes me laugh whenever I hear people from other countries label our football fans "arrogant" and "deluded" – in reality, people in this country tend to be extremely defeatist and self-effacing about our sports teams in particular. Too much so, in my opinion.
You genuinely don’t seem to understand the difference between media hyperbole and public opinion – or at least you don’t want to. Just because all the tabloids are ranting on about our chances, it doesn’t mean that everyone in the entire country shares that attitude. Believe me, we find all that nonsense even more irritating than everyone else does, because we’re the ones being naively tarnished with that same brush by so many people. The aforementioned nations mock us because they traditionally hate the English – that’s just a simple fact of life in Britain. But, I have to say, even if we don’t win the World Cup for another hundred years, I’d gladly settle for actually being there part of it all, rather than being one of those bitter, prejudiced Scots etc walking round with their ‘Anyone But England’ shirts mass produced every tournament.
At the same time though, I think we’re perfectly entitled to expect the side to at least do reasonably well in tournaments. We do undoubtedly have a talented squad of proven performers at Premiership and Champions League level, which should be capable of mounting more of a challenge for these honours. But, for various reasons, it never seems to come together – which is something we’ve grown accustomed to. So, if you’re going to be abusive and racist, then I suggest you wait until you actually know what you’re talking about.

worst team in the world is a bit harsh, id say it was because we simply don’t play like a team pal, game on sunday looked like 11 lads thrown together and told to play football.

So let the real sport begin. What we fans are truly good at is blame games and emotional blood-letting.
The truth is that we were beaten by a team, not a series of well-known personalities that are the fodder of an ever-devouring 24-hour news cycle.
Germany is not the best team, but they were a team, and out of four games we won only once. We need national football academies across the country that not only nurture football talent but also give young people realistic aspirations. We have the richest league in the world and yet we cannot get our national team to play as a team.

I am English, and I will admit that we are rubbish.
I think that is because:
-players are paid too much
-there is not enough homegrown talent in the Premier League
-there is too muh pressure and expectation for the players to cope with
-Wayne Rooney, Gareth Barry, Rio Ferdinand, David Beckham and Owen Hargreaves were all injured for the world cup
-the players just aren’t good enough!

I would say England’s defence was poor especially without Ferdinand’s presence. They did not play that bad and were robbed of a Lampard goal. I also think the manager should of chosen Theo walcott who of beat down Germany’s defence. England beat Germany 5-1 a couple of years back so that could of been repeated.
England is not a bad team! They have what it takes to do well.
