Do the team player have to touch the Football in order for the quarterback to run?

Sorry to ask this question again but there was some confusion so let me start over.
Do the team mate have to touch the football in order for the Quarterback to run?

And for the people with the nasty attitude problems don’t bother to type anything thanks but no thanks

But to everyone else Thanks

Well the center has to hike the ball to the quarterback before the quarterback can run with the ball so if you mean for the quarterback to run *with the ball* then the answer is yes.

Now the quarterback can go in motion (aka running) and the center can hike the ball to someone else like a running back. So the quarterback can run without touching the ball if that is what you mean.

Finally if the center hikes the ball to a player other than the quarterback that player can advance the ball without the quarterback ever touching the ball and without the quarterback even moving if that is what you mean.

If the QB has the ball, he can run with it whenever he wants. Unless you are playing by specific rules set up by friends or w/e, he should be able to run on his own will.

thats just a dumb rule when you are playing in your backyard or something. it does not apply to professional football. NFL

don’t quite understand your question, but in general the quarterback can run whenever he gets the ball, the one exception that comes to mind would be in touch football where the QB cant run until a team mate touches the ball first

I thought this was the most peculiar question ever…of course not!

Then I remembered back to my childhood days (man, seems like forever ago) and I realized that’s how we used to play pickup games in elementary and middle school since there’d be no offensive line. So I see where you’re coming from, and thanks for that trip down memory lane.

Again…no you dont need to, the QB can run it after he gets the snap from center.
