On The Team

I am just wondering what the average salary is for someone who owns a sports team. It doesn’t have to be a pro team, just a minor league team or a small league. Any sport but preferably football, hockey, baseball, or lacrosse.

They don’t work on a "salary"….at that point, they are self-employed and pay themselves whatever is left over from the operations of the team. If THEY are the owner, WHO is going to pay them a salary???

   Not sure there is an average.

   The owner’s income goes up and down as the success of the team goes.

   When Sidney Crosby joined the Pittsburg Penguins the game attendance doubled. The owner’s income went away up.

   Wayne Gretzky’s went away down as his time floundered.
