The biggest advantage is that you can blame your teammates, if the project goes bad. The biggest disadvantage is that you never get enough credit when the project goes well.

ADVANTAGES
a.) Ideally, a team comprises people with a mixture of talents therefore each team has a variety of expertise and abilities.
b.) Within a team, each person can be allocated a job which maximizes their particular strengths. They can concentrate on this and improve their capabilities and skills. This is known as specialization.
c.) Certain people can be trained to do more than one job – so that the team can be changed to meet particular challenges or undertake certain tasks. Also, if one member is ill or absent, their work can then be covered by other people. This is called flexible working.
d.) The team support and help one another. They can share ideas, problems and achievements. Ideas can be ‘bounced around’ so that the final idea is improved by suggestions from the different members of the team.
e.) Being part of a team also boosts the morale or the spirit of each individual.
f.) Any organization will encounter problems and difficulties and having a team will make it easier to solve them. Among the team, they can also help each other learn and develop new skills and abilities. One could actually help the other be more comfortable with those things that he/she finds a bit hard to do.
DISADVANTAGES
a.) Workload can be delegated unfairly and one has to carry more burden than others.
b.) Arguments could arise because of different views and opinion.
c.) Identifying who really did his/her best is difficult to do as it is a collaborative effort thus less chance for recognition or promotion.
d.) Some team members tend to be abusive and become too dependent to other people.
e.) Individual skills and talent might be stagnant as they work as part of a team rather than individually. They focus more on the team effort instead of developing his/her personal attributes.
